Stage School for Horses
Tournament Stud has a new 12-bay
Shufflebottom building at Syresham Fields Farm, Biddlesdon, near
Brackley in Northamptonshire, England. The building, designed for
horse training, is 70m long, 20m wide and 4.5m high to the eaves,
and incorporates the Shufflebottom Galvanised Eaves Beam Gutter
System. The roof cladding is natural grey P6R fibre cement with
vented ridges and 48 rooflights with red caps. Vertical Yorkshire
boarding of treated timber has been used for the side cladding. The
building meets the BS 5950 industrial specification.
The horses at the Tournament Stud are bred and trained for
films, TV programmes and historic re-enactment events, and so the
next time you see a cavalry charge or a chariot race on the big or
small screen, you may well be watching steeds from this notable and
unusual stud.
