Preparing for the grain harvest in East Lothian

George Brown & Sons chose a Shufflebottom building for future use as a grain store on Leehouse Farm, Gifford, in East Lothian, Scotland. The building is 80 feet long, 40 feet wide and 16 feet to the eaves. Steelwork is shotblast to B.S. SA 2.5 and painted in 75 microns zinc phosphate high-build primer in green. On the roof, the cladding is 0.5mm single-skin plastic-coated box profile with a closed ridge.

The building is to be completed with a sliding door 20 feet wide and 14 feet 6 inches high, and with spill flashing 1.2mm thick, made of galvanised steel, around the perimeter of the building, apart from the doorway. The photos show the building before final completion.
