A twin-span grain store, each half 48 metres long and 24 metres
wide, and 7.62 metres high to the eaves, has been constructed on G
Dunthorne & Son's Wolds Farm at Normanton on the Wolds,
Keyworth, Nottinghamshire.
The steelwork, shotblast to B.S. SA 2.5, is painted with 75
microns zinc phosphate high-build primer in green. The roof
cladding is natural grey P6R fibre cement with closed ridges and
fibre cement eaves closures. The Shufflebottom eaves beam gutter
system is externally mounted. There are four three-phase operated
roller shutter doors, 20 feet wide and 20 feet high, and two
personnel doors. Pre-stressed concrete panels 145mm thick and 3.6
metres high are fitted around the building, and down the centre.
The building also includes spill plates and four mechanically
operated louvres.
