The Turf Centre in Liss, Hampshire, opted for a
barn from Shufflebottom.
The 20-metre by 20-metre building, which is 7 metres high to the
eaves, has hot-dipped galvanised steelwork and an Ultrazed
cold-rolled eaves beam.
The roof cladding is Kingspan 0.5mm plastic-coated XL forte
insulated composite panel with a 40mm LPC approved core. There are
16 rooflights, specification1.5-metre GRP Trilite 2.4 standard UV
protection Energysaver 1.9W/m2K.
The side cladding is vertical 0.5mm single-skin plastic-coated
box profile with Ultrazed side rails.
The finished building includes two three-phase electrically
operated roller shutter doors, one 4.5 metres by 7.5 metres and the
other 4.5 metres by 6.5 metres. In addition there are three
personnel doors.
The design includes pre-stressed concrete panels, 145mm thick by
2.5 metres high, around the building except for the doorways.
