Stock Yard
With storage space for over 1,000 tonnes of hot rolled steel, we
can buy in bulk at the best possible prices and respond to our
customers' requirements efficiently and quickly.
Drilling
Fabrication starts in our Hall 1 and Hall 4, where steel lengths
are shot-blasted to meet Swedish Standard (SA) 2.5. before moving
through a tripple-head automated drill unit (pictured) and onto a
vertical mitre bandsaw.
Cutting
After the material has been drilled, this automated Vertical
Mitre Band-saw cuts the material to length. Our automated machines
are programmed directly from our drawing office, and this helps to
eliminate error.
Components
Our Automated Fittings and Angles Line is loaded with blank
material selected from our separate Flats and Angles stock of up to
100 tonnes. Most of the welded-on components will be cut and
punched on this line, ready for fabrication.
Fabrication
Fabrication takes place on one side of our two Fabrication
Halls. Once the fabricated steel work has been checked by our
Quality Control, it is moved to the opposite side of the
Fabrication Hall where our accredited welders weld to engineer's
details.
Paint Bay
Here, a post-fabrication primer is applied to our fabricated
steel. Our in-house coatings will usually be a High Build Epoxy
Zinc Phosphate primer, though different coatings can be undertaken.
Much of our steel work is also Galvanised.
Cladding
In addition to designing and manufacturing structural steel
work, we also have our own in-house roll-forming and sheet-metal
machines for manufacturing single skin cladding profiles and
flashings / trims for your buildings.
Loading Bay
Using our own fleet of articulated, rigid and 7.5t lorries and
3.5t vehicles, we deliver all over Britain. The loading of our
steel work is undertaken by use of side loader, with operatives on
top of the trailers / beds wearing harnesses attached to over-head
lanyards.
Construction
From spacious green field sites to built-up inner-city plots
with restricted space for delivery and erection, our workforce are
fully briefed and aware of individual job method statements and
risk assessments.
