Sir Steve Redgrave opens Avonmouth recycling plant
Sir Steve Redgrave, multiple gold-medal winning Olympic rower,
has opened the £25m waste treatment plant in Avonmouth near
Bristol, for which Shufflebottom provided 700 tonnes of structural
steel (pictured). The plant was built by New Earth Solutions for
Bristol City Council, and will compost waste into a growing medium
for energy crops and for improving the quality of brownfield --
formerly developed -- land.
A second adjacent plant should open in 2013, and will
transform waste plastic into diesel fuel.
