North Yorkshire Pig Unit

Pig building specialists G E Baker (UK) Ltd, based at Woolpit in Suffolk, chose a steel-frameShufflebottom for a farm at Ainderby Steeple, Northallerton in North Yorkshire.

The building has ten bays and a total length of 60.96m, and is 15.24m wide. The construction includes the Shufflebottom galvanised eaves beam gutter system, and the steelwork has a hot dipped galvanised finish. The unit incorporates the Tom Wright curtain system.

Gable ends are clad in Shufflebottom vertical 0.5mm 1000/32mm plastic-coated forward box profile with Ultrazed side rails. The roof cladding is P6R fibre cement with open protected ridges, without roof lights. 

Concrete panels 95mm thick and 2m high form the base walling along the two long sides, while the concrete panels at the gable ends are 1.5m high.
