Shufflebottom proud to be approved member of BCSA and RQSC
Shufflebottom is proud to announce that we have recently become an approved member of the British Constructional Steelwork Association (BCSA) and official Register of Qualified Steelwork Contractors Scheme of Buildings (RQSC).
The approved membership followed an in depth assessment of our business which proved our capability, capacity and competency to meet the RQSC for Building requirements in relation to the Building Safety Act. At Shufflebottom we knew this already, as did many of our customers who have invested in our steel-framed buildings and structural steel for over forty years, but this certification means extra reassurance to those customers who already know us, and to those who, as yet, don’t!
The certification also provides proof that we have the capability, capacity and competency to deliver on high-value projects and as such, we have been awarded a steel work value contract with BCSA/RQSC of up to £2,400,000.
The experience and quality of our whole operation that was assessed has endorsed that we can deliver fabricated steelwork in the following sub-categories:
Large span portals (30m+)
Medium/small span portals (up to 30m) and low rise buildings (up to 4 storeys)
Medium rise buildings (from 5 to 15 storeys)
Large span truss work (20m+)
Architectural steelwork for staircases, balconies, canopies etc.
Frames for machinery, supports for plant and conveyors
Refurbishment
Lighter fabrications including fire escapes, ladders and catwalks
This news is not only good for us at Shufflebottom, but importantly for all our customers. Increasingly customers are relying on BCSA membership and RQSC registration to assist them with the minefield of the pre-qualification process. It proves we are already tried and tested and have the seal of approval. We are on the register because we are one of the best of the best; believe in fair competition based on merit; and that we have demonstrated competency in line with the Building Safety Act.
Our customers ultimately benefit from Shufflebottom’s membership of BCSA as the Association represents the UK structural steel sector with the aim of raising the profile of the sector as a whole and drives constructional steel as the material of choice in the UK. BCSA membership will help us to get our capabilities and USPs ‘out there’ to those who have not yet had the good fortune to know us; and it keeps us up to date with technical advances and best practice so that we can maintain competitive edge for the benefit of all our customers.
Our membership marked the beginning of an exciting new relationship between Shufflebottom and BCSA and RQSC that will work hard for us and all our customers and stakeholders going forward.
