Industrial and Commercial steel-framed buildings

Shufflebottom manufactures high-quality steel-framed buildings for large and small scale construction projects ranging from global superstores and world-class research, education and community centres to local offices, retail and storage units. Buildings can be ordered as kits for customers to erect, or with our erection service.

To ensure that as a business we maintain our competitive edge, we make ongoing investment in our production capability. This including top of-the-range Peddinghaus integrated system machinery, enabling us to combine high-performance, versatility and increased productivity, with a capacity of 1,000 tonne structural steelwork production per month.

Previous commercial steel-framed buildings include the design, delivery and installation of The Range’s ambitious global headquarters and flagship store. The £22m building includes a 5-storey office block with an 80,000 square foot superstore and underground parking. The building was designed to be energy efficient and minimise the building’s environmental impact as much as possible. The site in Plymouth, owner Chris Dawson’s home town, also includes a garden centre.

Shufflebottom’s in-house engineering office was responsible for the full design and detailing of the structural steel framework which consisted of over 1,000 tonnes of fabricated steel and connections.

We were also involved in a world-class Sinclair Jaguar LandRover (JLR) facility in the Swansea Vale which was termed the ‘finest JLR showroom in the UK.’  To commemorate the multi-million pound project, JLR even produced a six part video documentary that followed the construction of the building. Shufflebottom manufactured and delivered the structural steelwork at the heart of this prestigious project. We fabricated and delivered 140 tonnes of hot-rolled steel and 25-tonnes of cold-rolled steel for the showroom and after-sales workshop. In addition we supplied 10 tonnes of hot-rolled steel and 3 tonnes of cold-rolled steel for the valet building.

Other industrial and commercial steel-framed buildings include Wales Air Ambulance custom-built headquarters, vehicle showrooms, award-winning visitor attractions, and headquarters for industrial businesses.

“I would have no hesitation in recommending Shufflebottom Ltd. They’re a great company with a great product. I received superb service from ordering and design through to delivery. That’s why we’ve been a customer for at least 25 years.

— Nigel Gates, owner, Gates Garden Centre
