#RIDBABuildingAwards25 – double delight for Shufflebottom

We’re delighted to share the news, hot off the press, that Shufflebottom is a finalist in not one, but two categories in the Rural and Industrial Design and Building Association (RIDBA) Awards 2025.

RIDBA is the leading trade association for the modern agriculture and industrial buildings industry in the UK. Not only does it provide a strong collective voice for the sector by representing member views to the wider industry, it also recognises and celebrates excellence in the modern agriculture and industrial buildings’ industry through its much-anticipated biennial Building Awards and high-profile event.

As you can imagine we’re very proud that, yet again, the excellence of our product has been recognised as follows:

Commercial Award Finalist

Working with lead contractor, Bouygues UK, Shufflebottom’s expertise in the bold and ambitious project delivered for client Carmarthenshire County Council at Pentre Awel, Llanelli has been recognised for excellence.

Canolfan Pentre Awel (Pentre Awel Centre) is a £multi-million development and a translation of Bouygues UK’s ‘building for life’ mission. It is a visionary project which is at the heart of the Carmarthenshire region, bringing together life sciences & business, innovation, community healthcare and modern leisure facilities at one site on Llanelli’s’ coastline. It is the largest regeneration scheme in south-west Wales, and at the core of Zone 1 of the 4-Zone development is 1,300 tonnes of steelwork that Shufflebottom delivered to provide the inner strength.

Shufflebottom is thrilled to have been part of the 12-month construction period and along the way to have been awarded the accolade of ‘contractor of the month’ not once, but twice, as well as Bouygues UK’s ‘Top Performer Award’ in recognition of the part we played in the local supply chain.

Industrial and Production Award Finalist

Shufflebottom, as the supplier of choice, for Shortland Structures of Sussex, has been recognised for excellence for the steel-framed building (K14660) being used as a Waste Transfer Building for TJ Waste at Northwood Farm, Arundell.

We are humbled to have been the preferred supplier for Shortland Structure for over forty years, delivering over 200 steel-framed buildings for the business’s customers across the South of England. Like our buildings, our professional relationship has stood the test of time. And for that we are proud.

This award-winning building that has reached the final, is of considerable size and scope being 42.7m long x 35m wide x 10m to eaves and is one of our biggest to date to be supplied to Shortland Structures.

Shufflebottom looks forward to a wonderful evening with other finalists at the Concorde Conference Centre in Manchester of Friday, 19th September, 2025 when the category winners will be announced.

Meanwhile, we would like to congratulate all the other businesses who have made the short-list, and we look forward to meeting and celebrating with them in September. Llongyfarchiadau/Congratulations.

None of this success would be possible without the skills and commitment of our wonderful #teamofsteel here at Cross Hands and our sales team across the UK. Thanks to all for your involvement. And finally, thanks to Bouygues UK and Shortland Structures for your continued investment in us on behalf of your customers. Diolch yn fawr.
