Shufflebottom is pleased to welcome Peter Harris to the team as Sales Estimator, strengthening the company's estimating capabilities and supporting its continued growth across the public sector and emerging markets.
Peter joins Shufflebottom with extensive experience in the engineering and construction industry, having worked across the petrochemical, energy, oil and gas sectors. His appointment will primarily support our Main Contractor Estimating Team, helping to develop opportunities in established markets, including education and healthcare, while supporting our continued expansion into the energy infrastructure and defence sectors.
Beginning his career in quality control and welding inspection, Peter developed a strong technical foundation in fabrication, structural steelwork, quality assurance and site operations. He has since worked on a wide range of industrial construction and maintenance projects throughout the UK, gaining experience across the full project lifecycle.
Over the past eight years, Peter has held roles as Business Development Estimator at Ledwood Mechanical Engineering and Contracts Engineer at TEi Industrial Services, combining technical knowledge with expertise in tendering, estimating, commercial management and project delivery.
His experience includes major offshore wind fabrication and construction packages, alongside complex industrial plant shutdowns and repair projects, where detailed planning, multidisciplinary coordination and a commitment to quality and safety have been essential.
Speaking about his decision to join Shufflebottom, Peter said:
"Shufflebottom's reputation for delivering reliable steelwork solutions and quality craftsmanship really stood out to me. The opportunity to join a company with strong values, a proud history, and a clear commitment to excellence was a major attraction."
Peter's appointment comes as Shufflebottom continues to build on its established presence in the public sector and pursue new opportunities across strategically important industries. His broad engineering background and practical understanding of project delivery will provide valuable additional expertise we develop our relationships with our main contractors.
Looking ahead to his new role, Peter added:
"I'm most looking forward to getting fully embedded in the team, understanding the workflows, and contributing to projects that make a real impact. Joining a new organisation always brings fresh challenges and opportunities, and I'm excited to bring my experience to a role where I can continue to grow while supporting the company's ongoing success."
Originally from Pembroke Dock, where he still lives with his wife and two children, Peter enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the Pembrokeshire coastline and occasionally getting out onto the golf course.
We are delighted to welcome Peter to Shufflebottom and look forward to the experience and expertise he will bring to the team.
