Built to impress

The wait is over. After twenty-four months of the design and planning stage, and twelve months’ build stage, the much-anticipated new, world-class Sinclair Jaguar LandRover (JLR) facility at Swansea Vale is now open.

On the 9th October 2023, the ribbon was cut, allowing customers to enter this state-of-the art development and enjoy the experience of the modern luxury era and first class customer service in a building that showcases brands including the Defender, Discovery, Range Rover and Jaguar.

Shufflebottom is delighted to have been part of the exciting journey that has transformed the Swansea Vale location from a brown earth site to what has been termed by Nicky Boyce, Head of Franchise, at Sinclair as “the finest JLR showroom in the UK.”

This multi-million-pound investment demanded excellence from its supply team and it was no surprise that Jones Bros. Ltd. of Carmarthenshire was the natural choice to deliver this arch-concept dealership. Established in 1971, Jones Bros. Ltd. is an independent company with an excellent reputation in the fields of building and civil engineering work to a diverse range of organisations and authorities in both the public and private sectors.

Shufflebottom, with its long partnership with Jones Bros. Ltd, was therefore delighted to be commissioned by them to deliver the structural steel at the heart of this facility of scale. Shufflebottom manufactured and delivered 140-tonnes of hot-rolled steel and 25-tonnes of cold-rolled steel for the showroom and after-sales workshop, 10-tonnes of hot-rolled steel and 3-tonnes of cold-rolled steel for the valet building.

It is great to strengthen our partnership with Jones Bros. Ltd and satisfying that despite the incessant bad weather during the early part of 2023, the building work continued apace and was delivered on time. We were therefore very proud when Jamie Callan, Head of Business at Sinclair, said: “I have huge gratitude to everybody who has made the project come to life, including contractors and builders…I’m really fortunate to have been surrounded by them.”

And we’re really fortunate to have been part of this exciting project, too.
