Powering the future – Shufflebottom’s commitment to sustainability

At Shufflebottom, we believe that building for the future means more than delivering strong, durable steel-framed buildings. It also means taking responsibility for how we operate — reducing our environmental impact and supporting a more sustainable world.

That’s why we’ve recently switched our electricity supply to a 100% renewable energy product, verified by the Carbon Trust. This choice helps us significantly reduce our carbon emissions and even supports reforestation projects through tree planting. Every kilowatt-hour we use now comes from clean, renewable sources including wind, solar, and hydro.

But this is just one part of a much wider environmental strategy. Our commitments include:

  • Minimising waste and promoting recycling both in our factory and with our customers and suppliers.

  • Reducing vehicle emissions by investing in fuel-efficient vehicles, and providing EV chargers in our staff car park.

  • Supporting local economies wherever possible by sourcing goods and services locally.

  • Encouraging sustainable choices by offering products and building solutions designed to last, with clever construction that supports long-term use and future diversification.

We’re also proud that every Shufflebottom building is designed and manufactured in-house at our Cross Hands factory in South Wales, reducing unnecessary transportation and ensuring quality control at every stage.

Switching to renewable energy reflects who we are as a company — a trusted, family-founded business with strong values, rooted in Wales, and determined to pass on a legacy that is Built to Last. Built for You. Built by Experts.
